FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

  • 1. What should I expect when the service technician arrives at my house?

You will be notified 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to the technician arriving. The technician will enter your home wearing protective clothing and gear as needed.

The technician will assess your heating and/or cooling system and diagnose the problem. The technician will then communicate with you, explain the issue and available solutions, and review pricing prior to any repair. If accepted, the technician will repair the problem and run through diagnostics again to ensure all has been repaired.

  • 2. What should I expect when I am having a new system or equipment installed?

The day before installation, we will confirm the installation team’s arrival time. If needed, any permits will be obtained prior to your installation. The installers will enter your home wearing protective clothing and gear as needed. The lead installer will inspect the installation locations and review the process with you. The lead installer is available to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you may have. Mr. Beyer often visits the worksite to ensure that your installation is running smoothly. If needed, Beyer Heating & Cooling will be responsible for scheduling the city mechanical inspections and obtaining a final city approval. At the end of your installation, the installation team will clean up and dispose of any debris. The lead installer will give you a tutorial on how to operate your new equipment, review the warranties, and help you register your equipment with the manufacturer. The lead installer will also review the routine maintenance needed for your new equipment.

  • 3. How can I tell if my furnace or air conditioner needs to be replaced?

The EPA recommends water heaters and heating and cooling equipment more than 10 years old and/or is not running efficiently, to be upgraded and replaced with ENERGY STAR rated equipment. ENERGY STAR equipment provides improved performance and energy savings you will see reflected in your utility bills. Replacement rather than repair is often appropriate when the system is consistently breaking down, turning off/on itself, is constantly running, or is using too much energy. Our skilled technicians will be able to review whether repair or replacement is appropriate and cost-effective for your specific needs.

  • 4. Will I be able to reduce my utility bills?

The best approach is to assess the whole house. Our technicians will inspect your home’s HVAC performance and may make the following recommendations:

    • Upgrade to a high-efficiency system
    • Close certain vents in unused rooms
    • Add more strategically placed ducts
    • Have your system routinely maintained
    • Upgrade your thermostat
  • 5. How often should my furnace and air conditioner have routine maintenance?

We recommend you have your entire heating and cooling system inspected and serviced twice per year for optimal performance and safe operation.
